Enjoy a Solid Gold Labor Day Weekend with the Stars of TruTv’s ‘Hardcore Pawn’
Lac du Flambeau, WI (PRWEB) August 18, 2011
Make your Labor Day Weekend plans golden with the Solid Gold Weekend on Saturday, Sept. 3 and Sunday, Sept. 4, at Lake of the Torches Resort Casino, the premier destination for entertainment and gaming in northern Wisconsin. The weekend’s festivities include the music of Hip Pocket on Saturday night and a rare chance to meet the Gold Family, the stars of TruTv’s hit television show “Hardcore Pawn” on Sunday.
First, rock the night away with the sounds of the band Hip Pocket performing on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 8 p.m. – midnight. Hit the dance floor as they play your favorite tunes from the eighties through today. Admission will be a $ 5 cover charge with all proceeds benefiting the Northern Tier of the American Red Cross.
Next, schmooze with stars when Les Gold, Seth Gold, and Ashley Broad of the hit reality television series “Hardcore Pawn” will be here live and in person! They will be available for a free meet and greet and autograph signing with all of their fans from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, in the Hall of Nations Convention Center. As an added bonus, fans can also bring in collectibles, jewelry, gold, silver, memorabilia, coins and other valued items to be appraised by seasoned experts from noon – 5 p.m. and possibly get a cash offer on their stuff, right there during the event! The fun part is, everyone will see and hear all of the action on the convention center’s large projector screens as the appraisals and negotiations will be captured on the casino’s “collector cam”. Fans of all ages are welcome.
The trio respectively own and manage American Jewelry and Loan, a high volume pawn shop located on the famed Eight Mile Road in Detroit. Les is the street-smart family patriarch who has more than 40 years experience as a Detroit pawnbroker. Having learned the business from his grandfather and father, Les often says he’s heard and seen it all, and that nothing surprises him. Seth is Les’ partner and is often seen as the more pragmatic, business-oriented member of the family. He is focused on expanding the family business nationwide. Last, Ashley is the hard-bargaining daughter who often argues with Seth and Les about the day-to-day operations of the American Jewelry and Loan store.
The show, which is broadcast Tuesdays on TruTv, follows the three family members and their staff as they deal with agitated customers, unusual items that people want to sell (including live alligator and snakes) and unruly staff members. Highlighted on the show is Les’ uncanny and shrewd ability to assess merchandise and handle emotional and sometimes volatile customers, along with Seth’s constant second-guessing of Les’ long-standing business practices in an attempt to modernize and grow the business. Adding to the show’s drama is Ashley’s tough-minded approach towards staff members she believes are not pulling their own weight.
In addition to the meet and greet and appraisals, qualifying Club Advantage members can enter the “Win Les Gold’s Gold” promotion that same day by swiping their club cards at a P.E.R.K.S. kiosk starting at 11 a.m. We’ll draw 10 winners of solid 24 karat gold bullion bars, starting at 2.5 grams and working up to a whole 1 oz. bar from noon – 5 p.m. See the Club Advantage desk or call 1-800-25-TORCH for complete details.
“What an incredible way to end the summer with awesome music and to meet the colorful stars of ‘Hardcore Pawn!’ said Michael J. Broderick, Director of Marketing at Lake of the Torches Resort Casino. “I instantly became a fan of the show the first time I watched the show and ever since then we wanted to bring Les, Seth and Ashley to Lake of the Torches. This is quite the opportunity for fellow ‘Hardcore Pawn’ fans to meet one of the most entertaining families of reality TV.”
